Rehabilitation
Veterinary Rehabilitation of Ohio is a department within MedVet
committed to the Rehabilitation Phase of Your Pet's Recovery.
While the benefits of physical rehabilitation are well established in humans,
it is only recently that veterinary patients have begun to benefit from this treatment.
Rehabilitation therapy is not a substitute for proper surgical or medical care.
However, multiple publications have proven its utility for not only speeding
patient recovery from orthopedic and neurological disorders but also for improving
overall recovery results.
Veterinary Rehabilitation of Ohio (VRO) is a rehabilitation facility devoted solely
to the improvement of the recovery, comfort, and ultimately the function of veterinary
patients suffering from orthopedic or neurological disorders. Proper therapeutic activity
under professional supervision benefits both patients and owners. Aside from the obvious
benefits for the patients (muscle mass development/maintenance, enhanced joint range-of-motion,
earlier/more effective limb usage, etc.), owners are given an outlet for their pet's
energy while they participate more actively in the recovery process.
The VRO staff includes professionals trained in human rehabilitation therapy and
further educated by the only veterinary rehabilitation certification course in the country.
The staff utilizes the best techniques and equipment available including a state-of-the-art
aquatic treadmill system that combines the benefits of hydrotherapy with low-impact exercise.
