Radiation Oncology

To make an appointment with the Radiation Oncologist, please call the Radiation Oncology Center and a technician will schedule an appointment.

The Day Of the Appointment

It is critically important that you do not feed your pet the day of the treatment. Pets must be anesthetized before treatment so they will stay perfectly still while the radiation dose is administered. Patients undergoing general anesthesia cannot be fed within 10 hours prior to treatment time. Giving your pet water is fine, but no food.

Medical Records

When you come in for your appointment, you will need to bring as much pertinent information as possible concerning your pet’s medical history, including any bloodwork, histopathologic (“path”) reports, radiographs, and CT or MRI scans. If your primary veterinarian has this information, the medical records can be faxed or sent via overnight delivery prior to your visit to the Radiation Oncology Center (please see address and fax number below).
