Diarrhea
Diarrhea is a very common problem in animals and can be caused by a wide variety
of illnesses. If your pet experiences a sudden onset of diarrhea but is still eating
and drinking, acting normally, and there is no blood in the stool, it
may be safe to wait to see your primary veterinarian. Often, simple cases of diarrhea
will resolve themselves without special treatment.
If your pet seems lethargic, does not want to eat or drink, vomits, has blood in
its stool, or if the diarrhea persist more than 24 hours, a veterinarian should
evaluate them.
